Steps for Covid-19 vaccine registration process

The government of India’s second phase for Covid-19 vaccine registration began on 1st March 2021. This second phase includes individuals above 60 years of age & those above 45 years of age with comorbidities. The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has specified 20 comorbidities which you can check here.

The vaccine registration process can be done either by CoWIN website or through Arogya Setu app.

Steps for registration through CoWIN portal

  1. Go to the www.cowin.gov.in
  2. After clicking on the “Register Yourself” button, enter a valid mobile number to get an OTP.
  3. Enter the OTP and click on the “Verify” button.
  4. Once OTP is validated, the “Registration of Vaccination” page will appear.
  5. When entering details on the page, you will need to add your photo ID proof and other information.
  6. After this, you need to choose a nearby vaccination center from the provided list and select a date based on the availability.

Steps for registration through Arogya Setu App

  1. Open Arogya Setu app and click on “CoWIN” tab on the home screen.
  2. Click on “Vaccination” and then on “Register Now.”
  3. Enter a valid mobile number and click on “Proceed to Verify” to get an OTP.
  4. After entering OTP, click on the “Verify” button.
  5. Once OTP is validated, the “Registration of Vaccination” page will appear.
  6. When entering details on the page, you will need to add your photo ID proof and other information.
  7. After this, you need to choose a nearby vaccination center from the provided list and select a date based on the availability.

The individual who comes under 45-59 years of age with one of the 20 specified comorbidities needs to carry a doctor’s certificate while taking the vaccine.
